Building equitable societies is a fundamental endeavor of education for sustainable development. To achieve this, we must strive to ensure that all children and youth have access to opportunities that contribute to the development of knowledge, skills, understanding, and values that lead to their personal and professional growth, and to the embracing of the identity of an active global citizen who leads the creation of a sustainable world. In full alignment with this vision, Sistema Cyprus’s mission is to promote social equity through music. Established in 2017, Sistema Cyprus is an El Sistema-inspired social-music orchestra program that offers music education to the children and youth of Cyprus, including migrants, refugees, and children from low-income families. Sistema Cyprus offers free symphonic music education that aims to achieve the personal development of its participants, with a primary focus on empowering them to reach their full potential.
